"A hidden local gem We have visited this area of Florida many times from the UK and thought we had tried most restaurants however, yesterday evening, we discovered this gem of an establishment. Formerly known as Prime Time and slightly hidden from view at the back of a small group of stores is this unassuming restaurant. It appears to have plenty of outdoor seating available on a patio, however, we chose to eat inside. We chose to make a reservation although at the time we visited this did not appear to have been needed. We were shown to our table immediately upon arrival by the hostess and provided with menus and beverage lists. A comprehensive menu of appetisers, salads, entrees and specials. There was also a good selection of beers which included 12 on draft. Chloe, our waitress, arrived promptly to take our order and answer any questions that we had. We ordered corn bread with jalapeno butter and lavender honey dip - which was incredible, a large Caesar salad between us ( which the kitchen split on to 2 plates for us), followed by chicken scampi and killer shrimp entrees. All accompanied by a fresh orange juice and a draft orange blossom beer. Each course arrived quickly without being rushed and was well presented and was a good size portion without being excessive. The chicken scampi on angel hair pasta was delicious and the Thai style shrimp in coconut curry broth was amazing and completely unexpected. My husband's favourite ethnic food is Thai and he was amazed at the quality of this dish and complimented the chef. Throughout the meal, Chloe was attentive, chatty, approachable and very personable and made us feel very welcome. We would certainly recommend this restaurant to others and will go back there again Thank you for a lovely meal. Total bill $95, which we felt was not excessive for the quality of this meal. Parking was plentiful, free and immediately outside the restaurant including disabled bays."

"Sometimes just have to travel a little for a wonderful dinner. We have been to the Placid and Cape Haze area previously and decided to try Placida Grill in Placida. About a 45 minute drive from our home. It was worth the drive Placida Grill offerings are made to order. Our server was Edda, lovely lady. Appetizer special this evening were chicken wings, we usually keep wings for bar and grill settings but passing other tables enjoying them and then the teasing aromas sealed the deal. The wings were plumb, juicy with a nice crisp exterior, served with fresh in-house sauces. We always have our sauce on the side. We want to keep the crisp fry. It was a very good choice. We also enjoyed a crisp, cold and fresh Ceasar Salad, a well made dressing. We added anchovies, yes we like anchovies! A dinner special was bouillabaisse, a delicious broth of seafood, very comforting and satisfying meal. We also had the Killer Shrimp dish, a strong nod to the Thai shrimp coconut milk curry soup. Wow, velvety, full of those various Thai favors and essence. This dish was more nuanced than the Thai restaurants in our area. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening of dinning here as well as the wonderful service by Edda. Delicious cocktail creations complemented our meal. We will be adding miles to our car to enjoy more meals and miles at Placida Grill."

"If you are looking for a laid back bar atmosphere and elevated food and drinks the grill fits the bill. A great menu selection of elegant dining options as well as a bar menu for smaller plates. Appetizers like Super Shrimp and lamb lollipops are a great start or to have as a meal. The burgers are large and fantastic made with Chuck, Brisket and Short Ribs! Best burgers in town."

"Wife and I have dined at Placida Grill many times. Nice family-owned destination. We started with a half wedge salad.. (delicious!) and a bottle of Roadrunner red blend.. (great wine!). Wife ordered the muscles, I got the blackened chicken pasta. Served over thin spaghetti and a white wine garlic reduction... Also delicious! Wife said her muscles and its sauce were tasty, but found over half had sand/grit she had to deal with. That's why the 4 stars vs 5. For dessert, we Shared their famous bread pudding. Service was excellent (thanks Mr. Kim!) and deserved the 20% we left. We will return!"
